I am a writer and editor with a B.A. in English from Pomona College. I mostly enjoy tutoring English, but math and science come easily to me as well. I love helping students get the most from their education. That moment when the material finally connects is everything. Outside of academia, I enjoy making music, reading, and working on my novel.

I am a first year Neuroscience major at Georgia Tech! Throughout high school and college I have had experience tutoring students for almost all subjects offered in my school ranging from world history to calculus. My favorite subjects to teach are math and science because I love learning about why the world works. I also really enjoy writing and helping others learn how to express themselves through their own writing.

My goal when tutoring is to not only help students learn how to get the right answer but help them understand why that answer is correct. I've found that one of the main reasons students struggle is due to a lack of interest in the material and that this can be solved by making the learning process more personal and engaging.

I have extensive tutoring and teaching experience. I have taught in the classroom for ten years and have about equal years tutoring experience. I have an undergraduate degree in English Education from Kennesaw State University. I also have a graduate degree from KSU in social studies education. Currently, I am enrolled in their EdD program. I am certified 7-12 English, 4-8 math, reading, language arts and social studies as well as in ESOL and gifted.
