History is my passion, and so is my career in education. I have a BA in History from Florida International University where I graduated Magna Cum Laude and received an award for academic achievement. During my time at FIU, I was employed as a preceptor by the History Department which provided me with the opportunity to teach students proper research and writing skills. I found that many students had been poorly equipped in high school to deal with the rigors of college-level work, and I made it a point to teach my students the skills they would need to be successful.History and writing go hand-in-hand, and I consider myself an excellent tutor for American and European history, effective essay writing skills, and proper research and study skills. My tutoring gives high school students the skills they will need to succeed in college and college students the skills they will need to graduate. I tutor using a technique-based approach, which can apply to a wide variety of subjects and is not limited to history or writing.As someone with a love for antiquity, I enjoy studying and teaching classical Japanese martial arts and have done so for fifteen years. Whenever possible, I attend living history events throughout the state of Florida. I also consider myself a bit of an automobile enthusiast and enjoy the feel of a well-made sports car.

I graduated from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts high school in June 2021 with four (4) years of math tutoring experience. I am a spring 2022 student at the University of Florida Innovation Academy and plan to major in Computer Science/Business. I am taking online classes fall 2021 with UF but my schedule is very flexible. I love music production, archery, video games and making music and hanging out with my friends. I love helping students out by tutoring them in whatever they need help with, and I get this great feeling when I see that a student is getting better.

I am a licensed CPA in the State of Washington and California, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. In 2008, I graduated from Brigham Young University - Idaho with a Bachelors degree in Accounting. Since graduation, I have worked for CPA firms throughout the California Bay Area, and the greater Vancouver, Washington area.

Throughout my years of working with children, both in and out of the classroom, I have learned many things. However, two main things have stood out more than anything else. The first thing would be that flexibility is the key to success. The second thing would be that if at first you don't succeed, try again using a different method. There are nine different learning styles for a reason, and I pride myself on trying my best to recognize that in every student so that I may help them achieve their highest level of potential.

I was accepted to Sidney Kimmel Medical School (class of 2025) on 10/15/20 at Thomas Jefferson University after obtaining my undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Notre Dame in May 2016. With that said, I will dedicate the same quality of care to my students as I would to my future patients. To me, tutoring is mainly about cultivating a passion to learn in the student so that they are able to achieve their ultimate goal. I am a recent graduate of Cornell University. I graduated from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) at Cornell with a Bachelor’s in Science. I majored in Biology with a concentration in Molecular and Cell Biology. I am currently working in medical research here in New York and am planning on applying to MD and MD/PHD programs. I have worked in many different study group environments and I believe that putting topics and ideas into the proper context makes the information easier to process as well as more memorable to the student. I have seen this in everything from US History to biology and truly believe this is the best way to fully understand and grasp new concepts. My down time consists of a lot of physical activity, whether that is in the form of going to the gym or playing ice hockey and soccer. I find staying physically active is a great way to balance the academic challenges in my life and allows for me to have a productive escape whenever I need one.

I love math and science, it is the base of all life as we know it. In order to be prepared for the future you need to learn why a subject is important, along with the most efficient ways to find the answers. By utilizing not only the materials you're given in the classroom but also the materials that are readily available to you in life.
