I hold a Master's degree in Spanish and Linguistics from New Mexico State and bring over 25 years of experience teaching the language to students of all levels and backgrounds. My journey in education has been both diverse and deeply fulfillingI've taught in public schools, private settings, and one-on-one environments, always striving to adapt to the unique learning style of each student. I worked as a Spanish instructor and linguist for the United States Special Forces for 10 years.
Throughout my career, I've developed a broad toolkit of 150 teaching strategies and resources that make language learning engaging, relevant, and effective. I believe that learning a new language is about so much more than grammar and vocabularyit's about building confidence, fostering cultural understanding, and empowering communication.
I am most passionate about helping students develop their speaking skills. I am very aware of the skills required to more advanced levels and I possess the skills to help you achieve your language learning goals. There's nothing more rewarding than watching a learner go from hesitant phrases to full, confident conversations. I particularly enjoy working with students preparing for travel, looking to connect with family, or seeking to succeed in academic or professional settings.
