Hi, I'm Jake Chaconas! I graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University in 2023 with a Bachelor's degree in Biology (Whoop!). Throughout my studies, I maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA. My academic and pre-medical background has provided me with a deep understanding of science and medicine. I am well-equipped to tutor a broad range of subjects including mathematics, english, writing, biology, chemistry and more.

I have one year of experience tutoring students through Cov-Ed, an online tutoring/mentoring organization created for students affected by school closures during COVID. Through this experience, I provided individualized tutoring for elementary, middle and high school students, helping them overcome academic challenges. I am comfortable with both online Zoom tutoring and in-person sessions. Additionally, I worked as a camp counselor for two summers, where I developed a love for working with kids. I find so much joy in helping students fulfill their potential and overcome their academic struggles.

I can also provide pre-medical advice for students looking to excel in their undergraduate courses, medical school interviews, research, MCAT preparation, volunteer work, or anything else they need. I also am versed in pre-nursing as well, scoring 99th percentile on the TEAS.

My tutoring approach emphasizes the importance of creating a comfortable and encouraging learning atmosphere. I am a huge advocate of active learning and recall strategies as I personally find them to be the most effective methods for learning and retaining information. I strive to break down complex concepts into manageable steps and digestible material for my students. My goal is to inspire students not only to excel in their academic subjects, but to feel confident in themselves along the way.
