I want to help students get to the direction that they want to go in life after they finish their formal public education. I believe that education is a powerful tool for helping that individual to make a positive change in their life as well as in turn a positive change in someone else's life. By helping students succeed academically will help them to develop the skills and knowledge they need to make a difference in their communities and beyond. I want to be that person that played a part in helping that individual to become a success in their life. I am someone that enjoys helping others to achieve their goals. I understand the challenges that students face, because as former student myself, I have also faced similar challenges. I want to be that person to help others overcome obstacles and achieve success.

Working with students has helped me to build a relationship with them in getting to know them better on a personal level, understanding their strengths and weaknesses, and providing individualized support and guidance. It has helped me to learn in being an effective communicator with them when it comes to being clear in my explanations, listening actively to students' questions and concerns, and providing constructive feedback to help them improve. It has helped me to learn about every students learning styles to meet their individual needs. Because some students can learn better by using visual aids, hands-on activities, and group work. Encouraging students to think critically and develop problem-solving skills like open-ended questions, encouraging students to ask questions, and providing opportunities for students to apply what they have learned in real-world contexts. Managing student behavior by setting clear expectations, providing positive reinforcement for good behavior, and addressing negative behavior in a constructive and respectful manner.

I've gotten my education from a wide range of sources beginning from the time that I was a kid, would be from the knowledge and wisdom from my parents in their educational background that they instill in me in life on a lot of different topics. My teachers beginning in Elementary, Middle, high school, and college from the various subjects that I have learned during my formal and higher education. From reading a lot of books from a wide array of subjects to reading a wide array of subjects from different websites. This has given me the knowledge to help myself and to impart wisdom on others from the knowledge that I have learned over time.

I am a graduate of Portland State University. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) Certificate. I have a Minor in Linguistics. My focus is on teaching. I am planning to go for a master's degree in international relations.

The subjects that I tutored are English, Math, Science, History, Geography and Psychology.

My favorite subjects to tutor is history because it is interesting and gives me an appreciation in the time period that I am living in, in certain hardships that I didn't have to deal with that people had to deal with in past time periods. It gives me appreciation of what I have and helps me in not behaving and thinking a certain way that people behaved in past time periods. I like to tutor math in that it is fun and interesting in getting to solve math problems step by step. Science in that it gives me an understanding and appreciation of my daily activities that I perform that are related to science. Geography in that it gives me an understanding of why certain cities are where they are at or why certain places have certain climates. Psychology in that it helps me to understand myself and to understand others.

I believe in encouraging students to think critically and develop problem-solving skills which involves, asking students questions without giving them the answer where it encourages them to ask questions, and providing opportunities for students to apply what they have learned in real-world contexts. By building relationships with the student which would create a supportive and engaging learning environment; by getting to know the students on a personal level, understanding their strengths and weaknesses, and providing individual support and guidance.

In my spare time outside of teaching I like to learn Chinese language, cycling, reading acupuncture and herbal books to educate myself in taking care of myself as well as helping others, and travelling.
