I have been teaching English at the high school level for 17 years. I earned my BA in English and my MA in Professional and Technical Writing from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. I have taught all grade levels 7-12 and I am currently teaching AP Language and Composition for concurrent credit. I have also taught Oral Communication, Drama, Greek Mythology, and Creative Writing. I enjoy helping students learn to be better communicators both verbally and in writing because I feel that communication is a key skill everyone needs in order to be successful in all aspects of life. AP Language and Composition is one of my favorite subjects to teach because teaching the material taught in this course truly helps students learn to develop convincing arguments and this course not only prepares them for college, it also prepares them to communicate effectively in any situation. Becoming a high school English teacher has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. It has been extremely rewarding to help my students prepare for the next phase of their lives and to know I have played a part in helping them get there.
