I am a graduate of Purdue University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and am currently pursuing a doctorate at ASU. Since graduation, I have held two professional engineering positions. One involved overseeing operations for Halliburton Energy Services in Colorado and the second was as a project engineer for LyondellBasell in New Jersey. Between these positions, I returned to my undergraduate campus in Indiana. I performed research for one of the leading professors in my engineering concentration and often tutored co-workers in college math and physics classes. While studying for the GRE, I developed my own study system and approach which has been passed on and used by several friends. My teaching style can be best described as knowledge gap identification. I believe that the single most important thing for learning, after attitude, is identifying exactly what information has been miscommunicated. After this step, almost any person can learn any subject with enough patience.I moved to Arizona after accepting ASU's offer and have enjoyed the state since. During my first semester, I worked as a teaching assistant and was responsible for four lab sections of undergraduate engineering students. At the same time, I also performed robotics research in the Biomechatronics Lab under the direction of Dr. Veronica Santos. This research continued until her departure to UCLA. At this time, I am beginning work in the SpaceTREx laboratory and will be focused on space-oriented robotics. In my spare time I like to hike, rock climb, read, work on my novel, and build gadgets.

I studied at the UNAM it is one of the best universities in Mexico. I am a certified dentist in Mexico and recently moved to the United States. I am working on entering school at IUPUI to study a specialty in Pediatric Dentistry. I worked at a pre-school teaching Spanish to 4 and 5 year olds and found that I had a real passion for helping students to learn my native language. I also have experience teaching teenagers and adults and look forward to working with you. I understand how difficult it can be to learn a new language as I have experienced it as I have learned English. Because of my own experience I know how to help my students with the unique difficulties that each student may face. I also believe that learning should be fun and try to find new and exciting ways to make learning Spanish easier and less of a challenge.

During college, I have been a member of numerous campus organizations, such as Timmy Global Health through which I had the opportunity to travel to Guatemala and work with local healthcare providers. In Guatemala, we traveled to rural sites to set up clinics and teach the citizens of rural communities about proper nutrition habits and others ways to improve their health using the resources they have available. These experiences motivated me to seek a future in healthcare in which I will be attending the Indiana University School of Medicine in the Fall of 2021 in order to become a physician. Moreover, I am most passionate about tutoring in Biology and Algebra. I see great importance in education because it helped me make my dreams a reality. In my opinion, education is a great way to increase understanding of the world and to open up a world of opportunities in the future. Immediately after graduating from high school, Eric joined the Indiana Army National Guard. Eric credits the Army for developing him into a leader and instilling discipline within him. Eric went on to spend a total of 8 years in the Indiana Army National Guard, which included a 6-month activation to provide Homeland Security at the Newport Chemical Depot, earning him US Veteran status.A graduate of Indiana University Bloomington, Eric is an Alpha Chapter member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. He went on to further his education by earning his Master's Degree in Teacher Education from Marian University. Furthermore, Eric completed The Academy for Teaching and Learning Leadership Program at Marian University which is a 2 year building level administrator program designed to develop future leaders in education.Eric also has a passion for athletics. He served as the Middle School Athletic Director at Arlington High School and is responsible for bringing Elementary and Middle School athletics to Fall Creek Academy, where he also served as the Athletic Director.
