I am both studious and adventurous. The daughter of a school teacher and an NYPD Police Officer, I was the first member of my family to attend college. I won a seat at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York City. I was one of the few women enrolled in engineering in the 1960s. I majored in Civil Engineering. I worked for the NYPD for a while after Cooper, but soon found an application for my Cooper education in the space program. I worked for NASA at the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena where I became the first woman mission controller. I then worked for the Air Force via Lockheed Missiles and Space Co. and AT&T in the San Francisco bay area, before marrying and moving and starting Capital City Computing in Carson City Nevada.
