What is your teaching philosophy?
Help someone understand and correlate the study and the matter with a real life application.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Understand the student's background and comfort level and try to build an amicable atmosphere.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
By making the student co-relate the subject with real life application or examples. This will allow the student to be more logical in their approach.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
By making them know that I am there if they need help to learn, grow, and talk.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
Understand where the problem is, and try to focus and work on that area.
How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
Make them understand the concept with actions, diagrams, or videos.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Creating a friendly environment, and making my student sure that they can come back to me with any questions.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
Let the student know the importance of the subject and how that can bring a change to the application of a subject.
What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?
Diagram, actions, and examples help to understand the material.
How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?
By way of different examples.
How do you evaluate a student's needs?
By asking them questions and determining their interest level.
How do you adapt your tutoring to the student's needs?
Every student is different and the understanding hence varies. I am very flexible when it come to tutoring. For example, I can start from the very basic concepts for a subject if required, or I can start from intermediary level, depending on what my student need.
What types of materials do you typically use during a tutoring session?
Word, Excel, Presentation, YouTube videos, or simply notepad.
