I have been a tutor with Varsity since December 2016. I tutored a number of students taking high school courses such as IB physics, Regents algebra, Advanced Placement Calculus AB and beginning Java programming.
I have always been a good student in science and math. I have a Bachelor’s degree from Brown University in physics and a Master’s in computer science from New York University. I have worked in the New York City school system teaching high school algebra. During college I taught Advanced Placement physics as a freelancer. Most recently I worked for an Internet marketing company in Manhattan, testing software.
In tutoring, I like to present topics that have recently been taught in class, but also go over solving problems. I feel students should not wait until the last minute to start tutoring. If there’s only time for 2 tutoring sessions before the final exam, it may be too late to excel. Also, I prefer if the student tells me the topic to go over in the session ahead of time. Then I can prepare a lesson on that topic. I’m always willing to answer questions before starting, so you can know how I can help.
