I am excited to be working with Varsity Tutors. I currently teach middle and high school social studies at Bishop Dunne Catholic School in Dallas. I teach 8th Grade US History, Spanish 3, AP Microeconomics, and Economics. I also have experience tutoring middle school Math while in college.
I am currently attending OSU to receive my Bachelor's in Agriculture Education. It is my goal to help students find the style of learning that works best for them and utilize that in assisting them with academic goals.
I am an undergraduate student studying Economics and Public Policy at the University of Chicago. I attended the Horace Mann School in New York City. I love teaching and working with students because I feel that there is nothing more rewarding than being able to provide the extra push that students might need to be successful. I've successfully guided many students through every stage of admissions -- from figuring out where to apply and then staying organized and on-track, to "packaging" themselves and producing a perfect personal statement -- and I love witnessing them achieve their admissions dreams.
I'm a big Boston Celtics fan and I speak three languages. I can get you the test results you need to succeed because I went through the exams myself and performed well. The first time I took the SAT I actually wasn't satisfied with my score, so I spent 2 months working hard to get my score to where I wanted it to be. The second time I took the exam I saw a 200-point increase. Previously, I have had experience teaching the SSAT and the SAT. The student I tutored in SSAT successfully passed the exam is now attending a private high school abroad. I am no stranger to people getting tutors in order to succeed. An ambition to accomplish any academic goal was encouraged all my life; thus, I am accustomed to studying hard on top of participating in countless extra-curricular activities. I graduated highs school and received a diploma from the extremely rigorous International Baccalaureate (IB) program, and began attending an Ivy League college, the University of Pennsylvania, in 2016. I am a rising sophomore at Cornell University. I am studying Statistics and Economics, with possible minors in information science and computer science. I am a high school history teacher who has also worked as a teaching assistant at one of the country's top 10 colleges. I've taught ACT/SAT prep for about 4 years to students at all ends of the academic spectrum: from those working with learning disabilities/accommodations & struggling with timing to those trying to achieve perfect scores. Although I always create individualized plans, I focus on teaching every student the most effective, step-by-step way to approach each question on each section of the test. Beyond test prep, I've taught/tutored just about every academic subject through the undergraduate level. Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading about history, going to church, coaching sports (track & tennis), and spending time with my family.
