Introduce myself, meet the student, and identify areas of strength and weakness.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

Short breaks, fun problems.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

Ask leading questions until the student understands, and then try to build a deeper understanding.

How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?

Try to make the passage seem more approachable or put it in simpler terms.

What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?

Have the student explain it to me, ask them to generalize or try a similar problem, or have them draw a picture.
