I have over eight years experience tutoring, mostly in math and science, but other subjects as well. I attempt to find analogous concepts from a student's other interests or daily experiences to make abstract concepts more understandable. I believe that generally, grasping a concept follows on from realizing it's not so foreign as we used to think.

Hi, I'm Emma! I'm a rising senior Classics major at Carleton College in Northfield, MN. I study Latin, Ancient Greek, and the histories associated with the two languages. Outside of class, I'm an RA, and I spend 6-8 hours a week tutoring and teaching college access courses in a nearby high school. In the future, I hope to teach high school Latin!

My dream job is to have my own research lab for idiopathic disease. This is due to scoliosis and polycystic kidney disease running in the family. My best subjects are Biology, Chemistry (biochemistry), and Calculus. I enjoy music as a means of relaxing and have classical training from my musician parents. It is also about applying that math in real life. My approach to helping you get there is first to make sure that you understand the concept behind the subject matter. Then, we will work on practice problems to see how that concept can be applied.

I'm currently a sophomore majoring in Computer Science at Case Western Reserve University.
