I have been an ESL teacher for five years and an English literature, language and writing tutor for nearly ten years. My classroom philosophy is to guide students to discover the answers for themselves so that they may learn useful and applicable methods, ensuring their future success and confidence in English language and literature.

For the last four years I have been teaching English composition, essay writing, and public speaking at the university level. I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Iowa and have served as a grader for the essay portion of the SAT.
