The Berenstain Bears:
Lesson plans and teaching activities

A Bear of a Poem: Composing and Performing Found Poetry
To add to students' growing ways of looking at and listening to words, students will "mine" texts for favorite words from favorite stories. Working together, students select words and phrases to create a collective class poem that they will then turn into a performance.

This site from PBS Kids offers lesson plans addressing a variety of themes. Accessing these plans requires Adobe Reader.

The Playful Community
Students explore their families as communities. As a class, they will create a "Family Album" using all of the family pictures brought in by the students. This document requires MS-Word or compatible software for access.
