I'm a graduate of both Queen's University and Dalhousie University. I Received by Bachelor of Arts Honours from Queen's where I majored in History and minored in Religious Studies and am very proud to have graduated on the Dean's Honour list. During my Bachelor's, my academic interests were primarily focused in the decolonization of Commonwealth History, innovative educational programming and curation techniques for increased accessibility to Public History in Canada, and examining the the sociopolitical interplay between religion and global development. Following my Bachelor's, I have recently graduated from Dalhousie with a Master of Public Administration. Throughout this degree I adored and fully engaged with all opportunities to incorporate my passion for heritage, conservation, and the importance of DEI into my studies of Public Policy and Organizational Design.

Separate from my (admittedly very nerdy) love of the humanities, I also deeply enjoy the opportunity to tutor students in these subjects because it allows me continue to work in education and instructional design. I have always loved teaching. From working in structured education and learning positions to casual peer-tutoring to help out a friend, I have always found connecting with students and helping students learn to be a deeply gratifying experience.

During my undergrad, I worked for over two years for the Philosophy department of Queen's University as an Educational Technologist and Instructional Design Assistant. This invaluable experience expanded my understanding of universal design in pedagogy and scaffolded learning techniques.

One of my central priorities when tutoring a new student is not only ensuring my thorough understanding of what they're academic goals are but also taking the time to truly understand how they best learn and cater my teaching style to the ways in which their brain best retains information. I see this, especially in 1-on-1 tutoring as being truly the biggest key to success!

I would like to consider myself a fairly kind and approachable person which I place a high-value on, as I understand that taking the initiative to get extra help in subjects that don't come naturally can feel quite vulnerable. It's my job as your tutor to honour that by creating an environment where you feel safe while still accountable to supporting your own learning journey.
