I am a health policy analyst by trade specializing in Mental Health and Addictions with a PhD in Political Science from McMaster University. I also have an MA in Health, Aging and Society from McMaster and earned my BA in Psychology and Ethics at the University of Ottawa. My extensive educational background has provided me with the experience and confidence to tutor undergraduate and high school students in a variety of social science topics. I also have a strong background in English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction, with over 7 years of combined in-person and virtual experience in providing ESL education to children and adults.

My most inspiring educational experience was from my year spent living and working as a Native English teacher in Japan, where my love of teaching was fully solidified by the enthusiasm and love of learning I saw in students there.

I continue to be passionate about educating youth and adults in ESL, academic writing, and social science topics in particular. As someone who works as an analyst in government, I am also a big policy nerd, so feel free to pick my brain about health, housing, and social assistance policies and programs. Outside of my work, I am also an avid fan of music, internet pop culture, science fiction, and fantasy. I am also a father to an adorable daughter and cocker spaniel pup.
