I am a seasoned educator and lifelong learner ready to help you excel in your studies and your career. I have been working in K-12 education and higher education for the past 12 years in a variety of content areas and grade levels and even taught abroad in South Korea.

I am currently certified in K-12 Library/Media, K-12 English as a Second Language, 6-8 Language Arts, and K-12 Comprehensive Exceptional Education. I have taught 5th grade English Language Arts, middle school and high school Media Literacy, AP Seminar, AP Research, and high school Exceptional Education. I received my undergraduate degree in English with a minor in TESOL from University of Tennessee-Southern, as well as my graduate degrees in Library and Information Science and Education-TESOL from East Carolina University and Shenandoah University, respectively.

I am passionate about test prep tailored to individual learning needs, effective essay feedback and skill instruction, and research assistance that makes finding and understanding information simple. I have experience working with students on reading fluency and comprehension specifically in exceptional education settings. I also have spent a significant amount of time in adult education working with English language learners to develop core literacy skills, with a special focus on grammar and reading comprehension. I fully believe that every person is capable of being successful in their educational goals if they are provided the right supports, and my primary goal here is to help you find the right support for you.
