Do you struggle to understand your math or physics homework? So did I - math is hard! I always struggled with math all the way through earning my physics degree from Butler University, so I particularly enjoy helping students break down the mathematical barriers in the way of what they want to achieve. I am particularly skilled in explaining why math works and how it might connect If you struggle with math and are frustrated - trust me I HAVE BEEN THERE! I was a high school math and physics teacher for 9 years, so I have a wealth of experience helping struggling students learn a variety of subjects. I taught classes like Algebra Support, Algebra 1, Integrated Chemistry-Physics, AP Physics and everything in between.

In addition to a physics degree, I also majored in Middle/Secondary Education, so I have experience working with STEM students in grades 5- 12. My philosophy is to meet students where they are with the content and help them understand how to tackle difficult concepts and break down misconceptions. I do this with a warm, inviting, and understanding approach, so students don't "feel dumb", but instead feel proud of the hard work we do together. I enjoy tutoring physics (at all high school levels including AP Physics ) and algebra. I enjoy Physics and Algebra because Physics explains the world around us, and Algebra is the language we use to describe Physics.

Outside of education and tutoring, I like to spend as much time being active as possible. I love riding my bike, climbing, hiking, camping, and generally having adventures whenever I can! I am part of the LGBTQ community, love creating a safe environment in the classroom, through online tutoring, and everywhere I go. I also love spending time watching trashy TV with my two cats, Bradley and Opie, and my wife.
