I am a current student at Boston College and went to boarding school in Pennsylvania prior to this. My mom runs a daycare so my entire life I've been around children/students and grown to love helping them in any way I could. It seems my time has come to help and doing so through tutorship is more than fulfilling for me. In my educational experience, I've always been particularly fond of the humanities such as English, History, sociology/psychology, things of that nature. English would be my favorite topic to tutor; I love to read and analyze texts, motifs, and symbols. More specifically, I find my strongest abilities to be around writing whether grammatical, expository, analytical, etc. In college and boarding school, I also learned how to properly time manage, be responsible, and tackle different aspects of life without being completely overwhelmed. Outside of academia, I was a two sport varsity athlete in track and basketball. I'm a huge basketball/NBA fan, also love to cook, debate, and workout. I'm confident I can help students with aspects of school that aren't only academic. My teaching/tutoring philosophy is based on building a genuine relationship first with my student but also having a clear expectation of how we will both be getting better. As long as we are both holding each other accountable things can be extremely easy-going as we watch progress begin to happen. It's also okay for things to be hard or uncomfortable as well, it's a part of the learning process!
