I received an Associates of the Arts in Music from Camden County College, where I focused on Education in hopes to teach Music at a high school level. After receiving my degree I began teaching percussion with multiple marching band programs in my area, as well as assisting in leading the entire music unit to success. Through high school and college, I worked as a part-time babysitter and tutor to elementary and middle school children, where I was able to help them work through their homework and extracurricular activities.

I enjoy working on my own academic endeavors in a collaborative way, allowing my strengths to shine, while working with colleagues to bolster my weaknesses. When faced with a question I cannot answer, "I don't know, but I'm willing to work to find out" has become my personal mantra. My own passion for learning was handed down to me from some of the amazing teachers I had throughout my formative years. That passion is why tutoring is so important to me. I believe that children are naturally curious and that they should have every opportunity to learn in a way that best fits them, while not quelling that curiosity. As their tutor, my mission is to create an environment where my students know that I am excited about their learning and their success by celebrating those wins together.

Outside of music and education, reading is what captivates me most. Getting lost in the fantasy worlds of YA, the often wild tales of historical fiction, and the always comforting and unfailing classics, are what nourish me. Reading and writing are, to me, some of the greatest ways human beings have left their marks on this world, and I believe that the younger generations have so many wonderful stories to explore and tell.

I often go camping, an activity that reminds me to breathe. I sew and knit, a hands-on skill that allows me to express myself and wear my own designs. And on Wednesday nights you can find me singing with my all-female a cappella chorus where I am an assistant director and a leader on several teams, a lifestyle that keeps me grounded and humble.
