Session Summaries by LSAT Tutors

LSAT Tutoring review by Matthew in Diamond Bar, CA
Today's entire session was dedicated to logic games. We attempted to simulate a complete test section, then discussed strategy with respect to prioritizing games, time management, question skipping strategies, along with many of the other skills we have already established (sub-game board setups, etc.). We saw a mix of sequencing, grouping, and hybrid games.

LSAT Tutoring review by Jesse in Diamond Bar, CA
Today we reviewed the linear game homework I left for the student last week and learned grouping games. I left the student with some practice diagrams and questions for grouping games.

LSAT Tutoring review by Nathanael in Diamond Bar, CA
Today's session focused on argument (logical reasoning) segments of the LSAT. We began with parallel reasoning questions, and moved on to flawed assumption questions. In both cases I advised the student of the importance of articulating a possible answer before she reviewed the answers provided. This is both to save time, and to avoid being led astray by potential traps. We also did extensive practice with implicit assumption and weakening questions. She had expressed some concerns over her performance on a recent practice exam, so we discussed possible causes and how to deal with them. We also went over general test taking strategies and time management (reading questions first, transferring answers in blocks, skipping difficult questions, etc.). She will complete a timed reading comprehension session as practice for our next session.
