I am a recent graduate from Binghamton University, and am starting my Masters in Teaching of Adolescent Mathematics this coming Fall. I graduated cum laude with a Bachelors degree in Math, along with minors in Education and Music.

Math is one of my greatest passions, and I am incredibly interested in its implications and applications. That being said, math is often very difficult for students of all ages, and carries a stigma of uselessness and harsh difficulty. I aim to approach mathematics in a way that is effective for students, and allows them to see the beauty and intuition in a subject typically framed as being boring, difficult, and useless.

I have worked with students in math classrooms ranging from middle school to high school alongside seasoned teachers. In the Spring of 2019, I also completed a research project which focused on students' opinions on math education and math in general, and learned great deals about how math teaching looks from the perspective of students.

My tutoring style revolves around strengthening students' understanding of the underlying concepts behind the material, thus increasing their ability not only to understand the current material, but also to have a stronger basis for future material. On top of that, I believe establishing a strong rapport with students is an important step in actually teaching them; nobody wants to learn from someone they do not actually want to talk to.

When I am not rambling about math, I like to listen to, play, and write music, watch Netflix, and play video games. I also love playing card and board games with my friends.
