My least favorite part about school was when teachers would make me feel dumb simply for asking questions. My goal is to make sure my students never feel ashamed for being inquisitive or for not understanding something the first time they see it.
I am a recent graduate from Portland State University with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. PSU operates on a quarter-system, which means you must learn and retain a lot of information in a short amount of time. This system taught me how to study difficult concepts effectively and quickly, and I believe I can teach students to do the same.
My strengths in teaching are in Biology, Chemistry, Math, and English. I have also completed college-level courses in Physics, Psychology, Sociology, Art, and more. I am happy to brush up on my non-dominant subjects to help you with additional coursework. I have kept all my textbooks from important college courses, which are very helpful study tools.
