I have served as a tutor during middle school and high school for subjects ranging from math to history to English. I think that I'm a great tutor because I am knowledgeable in the subjects that I have listed above. I am also very patient when teaching others because I understand how difficult some concepts can be to grasp having struggled with them myself earlier in life.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

My teaching philosophy can best be described as persistent. I will try a variety of different methods, sample problems, and approaches to make sure the student is comfortable with the material on their own.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

I would use situations from my own education where I was stuck with a particular concept and try and show them that everyone gets stuck. I would emphasize that everyone struggles with material, and that with enough hard work, it is possible to learn anything.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

Show many different approaches and methods to understand it. Use the book, practice problems, and the internet until they understand it.
