By the time I got to high school, I had learned virtually all I could, so I took four semesters of French instead.I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with University Honors, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in French, German, and International Studies. As an undergraduate student, I spent two semesters abroad-- one in Lyon, France and one in Berlin, Germany, where I developed my language competencies.Upon return, I was accepted into an Early Entry graduate program, which I completed in Translating in Spanish, French, and German.During my graduate studies, I was recruited as a bilingual data consultant for Wells Fargo, where I contribute Spanish translation, guidance, and quality control to develop artificial intelligence through natural language processing.On the side, I also work as a Spanish interpreter for two regional language service agencies, facilitating communication between Spanish speakers and medical providers, community staff, and law enforcement officials to ensure mutual understanding, cultural sensitivity, and confidentiality.You'll notice the subjects I tutor are primarily foreign language related, since those are my areas of expertise in terms of education, experience, and passion.Prior to joining Varsity Tutors, I tutored children ages 3-5 to develop basic French vocabulary and sentence structure.I believe all students have natural gifts and aptitudes as well as curiosity. As a third grade ICT teacher for the Nest Program (children with Autism), I completely understand the importance of collaboration with other teachers and students. After completing my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Boston University, I continued my academic career at Adelphi University to receive a Master's Degree in Childhood Education. Now, I will be completing my 8th year as a teacher for the Department of Education.Since I am always interested trying new things and challenging myself, I recently began rock climbing. I love the mental and physical challenges of different activities and exercising. Traveling and exploring the world is another great love of mine. I have been lucky to have many wonderful memories experiencing different cultures, people and land. Sharing my travels and thousands of photographs with my family and students is humbling and exciting for me. In addition, I look forward to taking pottery classes with my mother to continue exploring things I enjoy and taking time to center myself. As a new mother, I can understand how necessary it is to take care of yourself so that you can bring your best to those in your life.I look forward to working with all students with all different needs!

I am an incoming graduate student at Harvard University in Earth and Planetary Sciences. I did my undergraduate at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). I study geology, though I have a great amount of experience teaching and learning all STEM fields. Currently, I am starting my graduate school research early at Harvard. While I tutor many subjects, I am most passionate about Earth Science and writing. I find learning fun and interesting, especially if it is approached in ways that are tangible for students and involve thinking outside of the classroom. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, reading, writing, fitness (I compete in powerlifting), and spending time with my cats.
