What is your teaching philosophy?
I wish to spread the integrated knowledge of math, physics, chemistry, and biology as a unified way to answer any question in science. I hope to transmit the impression that the interplay amongst these fields is critically important as we move forward in science and technology. To my students, I hope to pass on the idea that thinking outside the regime only adds to enlightenment upon reaching an answer.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
On a first meeting I hope to see the instructor's idea of the class, where the student initially stands, and how to guide the student in moving above and beyond the requirements.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
I have taught myself many topics outside of my baccalaureate, and have only gained more insight into what I wish to pursue. I want to show students that they too can achieve this, and how wonderful it is.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
My motivation is from within. I drive myself to pursue difficult topics and subjects to gain insight. I can only display this to my students. An insatiable drive to keep going deeper, to continue understanding until it is ingrained from as many angles as possible.
