How do you evaluate a student's needs?
I like to spend the majority of the first session discussing with both the student and the parent about goals of tutoring, past test scores, and how they would like tutoring sessions to be structured. I think it is important to not immediately jump into tutoring because every student requires an individualized approach to optimize the tutoring experience!
What types of materials do you typically use during a tutoring session?
Personally, I like to use official study guides made by the test publishers. Additionally, the tutoring platform has great resources available online to use - the test questions portal is a great way to practice learned material in between tutoring sessions!
