Hello! I'm Kathryn, a current high school math teacher in the greater Atlanta area. I graduated from the University of Georgia in May 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education. I am about to start my 3rd year of teaching, and I love it. I have worked with students on the new Georgia math curriculum on levels from 8th grade to 11th grade. Math has been something I have enjoyed since I learned my times tables. My love for logic and puzzles has carried with me for many years, and my passion is to help students make math click. The joy that comes when a student is successful is incomparable to anything I have yet to experience.
Through my experience, I have found that learning about a student and getting to know them and how they work is extremely important to their success. The beauty of math is there are multiple ways to solve a problem. This allows me, as a tutor and teacher, to enable students to discover methods that work best for them. In the end, I am not only teaching the math skills to boost the grade or the understanding, but I am also teaching problem solving skills that will last a lifetime.
My enthusiasm and ability to relate to students is tremendously helpful when tutoring, and I can't wait to help you!
