Hi! My name is Meera and I just finished my freshman year at UW Madison. I am an Industrial Engineering major, and was involved in the Wisconsin Synchronized Skating Team, Wisconsin Surma Bollywood fusion team, and SWE (The Society of Women Engineers). I'm really looking forward to helping students with math because too many students are afraid of it, and I'd like to change that.

After graduating from Arizona State University with a double major in English literature and Italian language, I relocated to Italy for a year to study Latin, Greek, and Italian at the University of Padua. The following year, I completed a Master's degree in Medieval Studies at the University of Toronto where I am currently a doctoral candidate at the Centre for Medieval Studies. My Ph.D. dissertation is about the political history of fourteenth-century Florence, Italy.At the University of Toronto, I am a teaching assistant for a number literature and history courses. Many of my students are in their first or second year of university, and I especially enjoy working with them as they make the transition from high school to university, learning on the one hand what it means to write university level research papers, and on the other, how to approach books and ideas that complicate what they know about history, literature, and life.In my spare time, I play the concert harp and enjoy listening to music, swimming, baking, and reading twentieth-century literature.

Hello, my name is Eileen! I am studying Secondary English Education at Towson University. My passions include reading, writing, playing with dogs, and coffee. Education is the great equalizer and that is why I've devoted my work and study to it.

I am a Master's Student at NYU, studying Scoring for Film and Visual Media. I have a Bachelor's in Mathematics from the University of Maryland, and I love finding the math in everything.

My passion for Spanish started after I graduated high school. I began volunteering abroad working in non-profit preschools in impoverished areas in both Argentina and Mexico. I also took intense Spanish immersion classes in order to improve my Spanish to best communicate with the communities I worked with. In June I will graduate with degrees in Spanish and Psychology from Western Washington University. My goal is to instill the same passion for learning and speaking Spanish in my students!

I have taught English for over ten years and am a great teacher! My students enjoy my teaching sessions which not only help them gain new knowledge, but also help them to become life long learners. I believe that education should not be dull and routine but interesting and relevant. We live in a busy world with lots of things going on which can be incorporated into learning. Music, business, movies, books, technology--all have a place in learning English.I truly believe that a good foundation in English can help a person in any area of life he or she wants to pursue. It is my passion to see students grow, explore, and become independent thinkers and good human beings. Becoming a good communicator is one of the ways that can set you on a course of success and I'm here to help!

I believe understanding is the beginning of all education and that all students can learn. My favorite subject to tutor is math, particularly algebra and geometry, because it allows you to work through problems and situations you can keep in your tool belt and apply them directly to everyday life. Through thoughtful approaches and creative instruction, I have helped students K-8th grade gain insight and understanding with the material they are learning about for the last 7 years.

I believe that each student has the potential to succeed. By teaching the fundamentals and constantly encouraging progress and effort, any student can learn any topic.

I'm excited to work with students and to facilitate their learning and school engagement. I have graduated recently enough to remember what school and class are like. It's an exciting time in life, but it can bring challenges too, at any level of education. That's why I'm here to collaborate with any students who can benefit from my tutoring. I hope to show clarity, professionalism, and respect in helping students master their work and continue to feel eager about learning.
