Hi! I am a recent graduate from Washington and Lee University with a degree in Engineering and Computer Science. I am excited to help people understand math and code!

I have graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Mechanical Engineering background. As an engineering student, the math never goes away! I have experience as a student mentor in Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 at UTD and helped many people with their homework problems, so I am not new when people want help on their assignments. I am fearless especially when it comes to pre-algebra, algebra, college algebra, trig, pre-calculus, calculus problems. I have tutored many high school and middle school students in math related subjects back when I was a member of National Honors Society. In addition, back when I was in elementary school, I have participated in numerous number sense and problem solving competitions. I am a very patient teacher and look forward to make mathematical problem solving understandable to the best of my ability.I also play the violin for a hobby, and had at least a decade of experience playing. I have achieved concertmaster positions for many concerts and gave lessons to middle school students. I was accepted in the TMEA All Region Philharmonic Orchestra back in 2007 through blind life auditioning and qualified to audition for All State as well. I have the proclivity to learn extremely difficult violin pieces and techniques.I was a long distance runner as well. I have run many 5Ks throughout senior high, and completed my first marathon in April 2009. Afterward, I participated in gymnastics, circus arts, yoga, and contortion as personal enrichment.

This has included creating individualized plans to work with a student's needs, whether they are in need of support with working on assignments or lessons to supplement the curriculum for their level.My tutoring style is focused on putting the student first: making sure that they feel comfortable asking questions, that their needs are understood and respected, and that, as we progress, they are gaining the skills and confidence to tackle any challenges that come their way.

In college I majored in Health Sciences with minors in Psychology and Public Health while in law school I leaned into corporate law and finance. Between law school and college I've pretty much covered every topic under the sun! In my spare time, I enjoy reading (especially mystery novels), pretending I'm a chef, and meditating.I have extensive experience tutoring family and friends at the middle school, high school, and college level in just about every topic, especially math and science courses. As I progressed through law school, my reading and writing skills improved significantly and I've picked up many tricks and tips I wish I could have used in lower school. I have always loved being a student and collaborating with others to make doing homework not only effective but kind of fun! Before Boston, I was an undergraduate at State University of New York Binghamton in upstate NY. There I earned a BS in Mathematical Physics, a BA in Mathematics and a MS in Physics. I have a strong background in Physics and Math and I absolutely love teaching these subjects. I really enjoy helping students overcome the gaps in understanding tough concepts, watching them understand the material, succeed on exams and seeing how proud and accomplished they are. I started tutoring when I was 17 years old doing Basic Math and as I have gone through my schooling I have begun to expand my teaching to all Mathematics classes and Physics classes when needed. I have tutored privately and through the library at Binghamton University. I particularly love tutoring because not only do I get to help a student succeed but I improve on my teaching skills at the same time. Wanting to be a professor is doing more than research to me; I want to inspire students and show them the wonder and excitement I see in Physics and Math.Aside from doing Physics and teaching, I really love exercising. Being mentally and physically fit is really important to me. I also enjoy listening to all kinds of music, reading, cooking and playing tennis.
