I am a rising sophomore at Michigan (Go Blue!!). I have loved math since before I could remember and am pursuing a major in Computer Science. When I am not coding/math-ing (is that a word?), I love to hang out with friends, work out, and scoop ice cream at my (other) job!

In tutoring I believe the most important thing is that the student understand *why* something is the case, rather than just *that* it is. This is crucial to forming a strong foundation on which further understanding can be built.

I have a passion for tutoring in an immense amount of subjects /standardized tests/essays, and helping others gain a greater sense of the material they are trying to master. ...in my students' lives! Previously, I've taught Math (up until pre-calculus), Science, Reading, Grammar, Writing, Computer Science (Java, C++, Python, Scratch, etc), and many more. I truly believe that working individually with students will not only help my students learn but also help me in growing as I learn from those around me.

...in actuarial science. I got an average of 3.8 GPA on all my math classes, so I am able to tutor in any level of calculus courses or high school mathematics. I have passed 5 actuarial exams (P, FM, IFM, STAM and SRM), so I can tutor in any of those exams.

...and building from there. The biggest teaching mistake I believe exists is starting from a concept that a student doesn't understand and unknowingly confusing them more. My goal is to get students excited about what they're learning and constantly remind them of the "why": how it all matters in the real world.

I am currently a Junior at Washington University in St. Louis, studying computer science and math. I hope to one day be a software engineer. I love working with other people and want to help others succeed in my areas of expertise.
