Helping students grow in confidence and skill is one of the most rewarding aspects of tutoring. I'm passionate about education because I believe every student deserves the opportunity to reach their potential, and sometimes all it takes is the right support and encouragement to get there. Guiding someone through a concept they once found frustrating, until it clicks, is a moment I never tire of experiencing.
I've had the privilege of working with students in a variety of settings, from one-on-one tutoring sessions to leading group study workshops. These experiences have allowed me to adapt my teaching approach to meet individual learning styles, whether a student needs a patient breakdown of fundamentals or a challenge to push their critical thinking further. I especially enjoy working with students who may be struggling or doubting themselves, I see every session as a chance to build not just academic skills, but confidence and motivation as well.
My educational background is in psychology and sociology, with a strong foundation in writing, reading comprehension, and analytical thinking. I tutor a wide range of subjects, including English, writing, social studies, and test prep, but my favorite subject to tutor is writing. Whether it's crafting a strong thesis statement or organizing ideas clearly, I love helping students find their voice and communicate with impact.
My tutoring philosophy is rooted in empathy, patience, and adaptability. I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel safe to make mistakes and grow from them. My style is interactive and student-centered, rather than lecturing, I ask guiding questions, encourage reflection, and work collaboratively toward understanding.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy creative writing, reading literature from around the world, and spending time in nature. These interests help me stay curious and engaged, which I bring into every session with the hope of inspiring the same curiosity in my students.
