I currently have a high school diploma and am currently working on a bachelor's in math and computer science. At the collegiate level, I have taken AP Calculus AB (5), AP Calculus BC (5), Calculus 1 (A), Calculus 2 (A), Calculus 3 (A), Linear Algebra (A), Abstract Algebra (A), and Combinatorics (A). I took Prealgebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry before high school and took Precalculus, Calculus, Physics, AP Physics, Trigonometry, Calc 1, Calc 2, and Calc 3 in high school.
I have tutored students in pre-algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, and in every subject up until calculus 2 with the addition of abstract algebra. My main method is to have the student explain a concept to me (usually from a textbook or assignment) so that I can gauge what they understand and what they need help with. This method works surprisingly well, as I've found because I can tell exactly where they need help something or where they just haven't spent enough time with a concept.
When I am tutoring you (or your child in need of tutoring), I hope to connect with you on a personal level. I get that not everyone loves math the way that I do, but that doesn't mean that you can't understand it to pass your classes at school or solve the necessary problems. Hopefully, after I can give you some guidance for solving your textbook problems and some purpose (Why is this math useful exactly? What are we trying to do?), I hope that you can come to a point where you are able to solve any problems that you need to.
