Initially graduating as a Registered Nurse from a diploma program over 35 years ago, I went on to obtain my BScN, a Master of Education and a Master of Health Administration.
Over the years, I have held nursing roles in clinical settings, education, practice and progressive leadership roles within health care organizations. I have experience in a wide range of clinical areas, from Critical Care to Perioperative Services to Emergency Services to Obstetrics and Paediatrics to Mental Health and Addictions. I've been actively involved in quality improvement initiatives, always aimed at enhancing clinical care. I have successfully coached and mentored numerous nurses, leaders and clinical teams. Along with my clinical background, I have experience in teaching/academic learning with both nursing students and nursing continuing education programs.
I am passionate about nursing practice and providing quality care that is safe and effective. I continue to actively work on my own personal development and truly believe that reflection and continued learning are integral parts of being a nurse.
