I'm passionate about helping students because I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to learn and grow. There's something incredibly rewarding about witnessing that "aha!" moment when a concept clicks, or seeing a student gain confidence in their abilities. I want to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and ultimately reaching their full potential. I believe education is empowering, and I'm driven by the desire to make a positive impact on my students' lives by fostering a love of learning and helping them achieve their academic goals.

I have extensive experience working with students of all ages. I homeschooled my three sons from ages 4 to 18, guiding them through all academic subjects. This experience provided me with a deep understanding of different learning styles and the challenges students can face. Additionally, as a teaching pastor, I've taught theology and religious history to both small and large groups, and as a manager of pediatric health clinics, I have trained healthcare staff.

I attended Joliet Junior College, Southern Illinois University, and Moody Bible Institute, and I am currently working towards a degree in Psychology. I am comfortable tutoring a wide range of subjects, including English, Mathematics, History, Social Studies, Civics, Government, Philosophy, Ethics, Physical Sciences, and Creative Writing. I also enjoy helping students improve their literacy and reading skills.

My teaching philosophy centers around the belief that learning should be an active and engaging process. I strive to create a personalized learning experience for each student, adapting my approach to their individual needs and learning styles. My tutoring style is patient and encouraging. I believe in breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps, providing clear explanations and examples, and offering constructive feedback. I also encourage students to take an active role in their learning by asking questions, participating in discussions, and developing critical thinking skills. Ultimately, I aim to empower students to become independent learners and problem-solvers.
