I am a career changer who decided to leave the legal field as a lawyer and pursue a career in elementary education. During my formative years, I focused on English, Language Arts, and Social Studies to prepare for a future in law. While in elementary school, I was diagnosed with dyslexia, and I had to learn through techniques tailored to how I process information. I remember working with special educators who gave me the tools and support I needed to succeed. They hold a special place in my heart because they helped me realize that having dyslexia doesn't mean I can't learnit just means I learn differently. With a little guidance and the right strategies, I was able to grow into a successful student, lawyer, and now, educator.

Since beginning my Master of Arts in Teaching, I've seen a noticeable shift in my teaching style and in how I connect with my students. Interestingly, after taking a math class in the fall of 2023, my students told me I had become a better math teacher! I strongly believe that no matter your age, you must be willing to keep learning and growing. I live by the old proverb, "You never stop learning in life until you die." Whether you choose to keep learning or not is up to youbut your knowledge could be the spark someone else needs to chase their own dreams.
