Hi! I am Josie, and I am a senior student at the University of Notre Dame pursuing a Neuroscience and Behavior degree with a supplementary major in Spanish! I graduated high school in 2021 from Homestead High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I am passionate about tutoring because I love to work with students to help them achieve their goals and prosper. I am lucky that academics have come pretty naturally to me, so I want to share some of the tips and tricks that have helped me with other students. I have five years of experience tutoring middle school students, and I have also taught 1st graders in the past. I usually tutor math ranging from elementary school up to Algebra 2, but have also tutored biology, Spanish, and helped with essay-writing. In my tutoring sessions, I emphasize practice and autonomy to help the students learn material without me doing the work for them. I like to help them understand why a certain process or mechanism works. I can't wait to get to know my students! :)
