It is my passion to help students surprise themselves by mastering material that they did not think that they could, to make "scary" subjects manageable if not outright fun.

My educational background includes an undergraduate degree in zoology from the University of Texas at Austin, as well as a secondary composite science teaching certificate requiring several hours in chemistry and physics.

I have been teaching for over twenty-two years, including the past sixteen teaching physics and chemistry at a private school in the Dallas area. I have taught all levels of first year physics and chemistry and have built from scratch a successful Advanced Placement program for AP Physics 1, AP Physics C: Mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism, and AP Chemistry. In addition, I have tutored several college students in college chemistry either during the term or prior to taking the course for them to feel prepared at the start.

I have been happily married for twenty-five years and have a sophomore in college and a junior in high school. I enjoy spending time with family, watching and playing sports, reading, as well as spending time outdoors.
