I recently graduated from Harvard College with a degree in Visual and Environmental Studies, a minor in Computer Science, and a citation in French. I've been working in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles since then as an assistant, first for a production company and then for a director. I have also been working freelance jobs on the side, including editing video, writing and covering scripts. I am just beginning my tutoring career, with a focus on teaching French and SAT writing.
I love the French language and culture and hope to share this passion with others. I first travelled to France at the age of 12 on an exchange, meeting my best friend in the process. I have been going back to visit ever since and will be visiting Paris again this summer. In high school I took the AP, scoring a 5, as well as the SAT Subject Test, scoring a 730.
I scored 790 on the SAT writing portion, my highest score on the regular test. Though I am just beginning to teach SAT writing, I do have experience freelance writing and teaching feature film coverage. For example, in my year and a half at Marc Platt Productions I was in charge of several interns each semester and taught script coverage (essentially writing book reports on film scripts). From this experience, I believe my strength in tutoring writing lies in communicating creative writing ideas to more logically minded individuals.
If you're looking for an enthusiastic French or SAT writing tutor, I believe I'm suited for the job. What I lack in experience I make up for in patience, passion and perseverance. Thank you for your consideration!
