I have been tutoring Spanish for 7 years and have spent time teaching/studying the language in Mexico, Spain, Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay, and Brazil. I have taught 17 different Spanish courses including beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. In addition to being TEFL and TOEFL certified, which means I am knowledgeable in all procedures and methods to teaching a foreign language effectively, I am certified as a Master Level Tutor by the National Tutoring Association. I received a bachelor's in Spanish, alongside a certificate in International Studies, from Arizona State University. I've also traveled to Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, England, Hungary, Switzerland, Germany, and France. I truly love sharing the experiences / opportunities I've had abroad with my clients!
I come from a family of teachers and have a personality well suited for tutoring, leading to better communication, understanding, and ultimately better results. I am patient, empathetic, and kind, and I can articulate difficult concepts in a very simple and concise manner. I have a deep passion for helping my students and I will take every measure to ensure their success. I make every lesson enjoyable and have long lasting relationships with each and every one of my clients. We have fun and that's very important when you're learning a language.
I love tutoring Spanish. I fell in love with the language after volunteering at an orphanage in Monterrey, Mexico, at the age of 16. Upon my return to the U.S., I dedicated thousands of hours to studying the language. I have listened to hundreds of Spanish podcasts, written multiple journals in the language, memorized and can now sing hundreds of Spanish songs, and have kept countless notebooks of vocabulary words. Even though Spanish was included in my college coursework, I truly learned the language on my own terms. And that is what I am here to help you do as well!
Some think there is an advantage to learning a language from a Native speaker. However, someone who has learned the language from a very basic to advanced level has all the tricks and trade to the game. I've studied this language for so many years that I know exactly what it takes to go from ground zero to fluency. My clients can tell you the same.
I look forward to working with you!
