I have worked in education for nearly 20 years in three different states. Fifteen of those years I served as a traditional secondary classroom language arts teacher. I have taught a fully array of classes from 6th grade to 12th, from remedial level reading to AP level language and composition, plus electives such as journalism and creative writing in between.
Public education has evolved in a way that makes me feel I'm no longer comfortable trying to evolve with it, so I've given up teaching and have begun working as a real estate agent in the south Seattle area. I look at tutoring as something I can do occasionally on the side, because I do miss working with students, especially those actively seeking to better themselves and their skills.
