I am a very passionate licensed Spanish/ ESL educator who has been teaching for 5 years in both public and private sectors, urban and rural. Furthermore, I am fully bilingual, native in both Spanish and English. I am open to tutoring both Spanish/ English language learners and have no preference. I believe that communicating in different languages opens doors for us and would love to help you become a more well-rounded and cultured individual. As stated by Nelson Mandela : "If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart."
I received my BA in Education from St. John's University with an emphasis in Spanish. I later traveled to teach abroad in Medellin, Colombia and obtained my MA in Learning and Teaching Processes in a Second Language from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana. Since I believe that educators are life long learners, I dream of receiving my PhD in education in the near future. I am always researching trends and strategies in order to fulfill my students needs.
I am an open-minded, dedicated and goal-oriented individual. In my free time I really enjoy exercising and being active. In addition, I am a bookworm and a music lover. I love meeting new people and engaging in good conversation. However, my ultimate reward is seeing my students develop their language skills.
If you want to know anything else about my experience as an educator, feel free to look at my resume.
I hope you find this information helpful and that we are a good match to begin learning together!
