I first had an interest in tutoring in college. What laid the framework for my teaching experience was the opportunity to teach in a small classroom and in an individual setting. I loved being able to help students achieve their academic goals and see their process of development. My philosophy for learning is knowing the basics well. Without understanding the basics well enough, it will be difficult to grasp more complex ideas. An example would be general biology, it is important to know how cells work because it will help a student understand how tissues work and go further into organs and then organ systems and lastly an organism. Through hard work and a commitment to understand the material, students can become successful.
