I have a unique blend of education and experience as a teacher. I am a native Spanish speaker from the Dominican Republic. As a teacher, I have a passion for my work which gets passed on to my students and makes them love the subject and learn Spanish easily and fluently. My passion for education started when I got a certification as facilitator for PRIME at Junior Chamber (Camara Junior '80 in the DominicanRepublic). Then, I got training as a virtual tutor for youth entrepreneur groups from disadvantaged zones. Moreover, I was a Local Economic Development Project Advisor for GTZ, a German Agency for Technical Cooperation. In both programs, I helped them grow and develop success. Continuing my enthusiasm for giving a contribution to the society, I worked for five years at a humanitarian organization, World Vision. In order to transfer my knowledge and experience, I taught at the Universidad APEC, Social Marketing for theAdvertising Degree Program. Through the years, I have had the opportunity to be a tutor for individuals and small groups to become proficient in Spanish. In my Spanish classes, I am not only focused on teaching the language, but also cover the Spanish and Latin American cultures. I have had the opportunity to travel around the world, which gives me an understanding of other cultures. I like to use many standard resources in my class. However, I am flexible for any special request from my students. As a teacher, I am able to create an optimal learning environment in which students enjoy learning, have fun and attain increasingly higher levels of linguistic proficiency. I have learned a lot of really interesting and fun activities that I can incorporate into my Spanish class. I recognize that learning a foreign language sometimes could be stressful. I guarantee that you can have a fun learning experience.
