I hold a Ph.D. in Luso-Afro-Brazilian Studies and Theory (specializing in Brazilian and Portuguese Literature) from The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
During my career, I have privately tutored people of all ages and have taught at two large, public, urban universities serving predominantly first-generation and Pell Grant eligible students, as well as two private, elite institutions serving high-achieving students. My current position is as a Lecturer at Washington University in Saint Louis.
As an educator with over 14 years of experience, I consider myself an expert at meeting learners where they are now and then systematically guiding them to where they want to be. I derive great joy from helping my students reach new milestones and maximize their academic potential.
While I teach, lecture, and tutor on a wide variety of subjects, I'm most passionate about English, Portuguese, Literature, Writing, and Public Speaking.
In my spare time, I enjoy photography, hiking, rock climbing, reading, and spending time with my family and friends.
