Greetings, my name is Chris Castillero and I have been in mathematics education for 17 years. It is my passion to help students understand math so that they feel successful. I do this though getting to know what students have to work with and moving them forward from there. What is your teaching philosophy?

My teaching philosophy is to ask good questions and collaborate with students so I can help them achieve their goals. I have 20 years of experience preparing students for mathematics at all levels, and I will use that knowledge to help my student succeed.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

In my first session, I get to know my student's learning habits through conversation and questioning. In order to help a student to accomplish their goals, I need to know how they learn and how to challenge them though new learning.
