What is your teaching philosophy?
The future of the world sits in every classroom and I believe it is the responsibility of educators everywhere to inspire and motivate each student as well as to spark the type of curiosity in them that promotes lifelong learning. The simplest way to do this as an educator is to model the behavior, demonstrating to one's classroom -- be it in-person or online -- what it means to be an explorer or a citizen with curious intelligence. In addition to setting the tone and vision for the learning experience, teachers must recognize that each student will be different and is sure to have unique needs that will have to be met. By creating and implementing curriculum that includes visual, auditory, kinesthetic and tactile elements, I aim to ensure as many students as possible absorb the foundational lessons of the course. Further, I believe in developing reach goals for the students, challenging them with group and individual projects that call them to be creative and collaborative in addition to analytical. Given the rapid technological progress of our age, it is also important to ensure students finish the course equipped with the latest tools and methods to compete in the real world, not only on the job, but also and most especially against the person they were before starting the course. Lastly, I employ my life coaching skills to help develop future leaders, encouraging them to question the world around them, think independently and apply what they learn for the good of all. I am honored to help shape the future by sharing my academic knowledge and professional skills with the hope that those I teach achieve far greater than me.
