Teaching others is something I enjoy the most. I believe that to become an excellent tutor one must have a desire to assist students in the learning process, and this is one quality which I feel I definitely possess.

I have been tutoring students ages from 10-24 and SAT for 5+ years. I know how to get a student well prepared for any standardized test. I am well familiar with all the techniques to achieve a higher score. I can also show a student how to study effectively so that they do well in school.

Outside of tutoring, I'm a mechanical engineering student. I'm currently in my 3rd year.
I enjoy kayaking, snowboarding, hiking, and working on cars.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

When students encounter material for the first time, it is helpful if they can talk it out with a peer or teacher. This might be in the form of dealing with a vocabulary word, a scientific concept, a math problem, or a verb tense in a world language. The verbal processing that takes place in conversation with a trusted peer or teacher settles the learner, provides an opportunity to try out the language associated with the new topic, and arms him or her with confidence. Through trial, error, and immediate feedback, the student now feels more confident setting out on his or her own to tackle the topic.
