I graduated from Montclair State University in December 2010 with a Bachelors of Art in History Degree. I currently own am a Social Studies Teacher and a Teacher of Students with Disabilities. I have accumulated a variety of skills in the teaching field with my experience as a teacher and aide at Baytul-Iman private school and as a Long-Term Replacement Teacher at South River Middle as a Special Education Social Studies Teacher, as well as a Substitute Teacher at Source4Teachers and Hillsborough School District.
I have also worked at South River Middle School as a long-term replacement Special Education Social Studies Teacher. I was a Resource room teacher for 6th grade US history students and my responsibilities included creation and modification of lesson plans according to the student’s documentation. Next I had to modify all the assignments according to the student’s abilities and make sure that I was still pushing them in order to get them ready for high school and or college. Finally, I would supplement the lesson with Videos and reading on a 5th grade level for my 6th graders. Next for my 7th grade World History class, I had to create and modify the lesson plans according to the student’s documentation and again modify all the assignments according to the student’s abilities and make sure that I was still pushing them in order to get them ready for high school and college. When it came to supplement the lesson, I would use videos once more and reading materials were on a 6th grade level. I also taught an ABA World History class with all assignments, reading, video, and assessments heavily modified. For my In-Class Support classes I was the Special Education Social Studies Teacher, and my main task was to provide support to any students and with my lead teacher work together as a team to help students with the school work.
I was a full time Social Studies teacher for grades 5 & 6, and a teacher aide for grades 6, 7, 8 in the subjects of English and Social Studies Teacher at Baytul-Iman academy Old Bridge, NJ. This opportunity helped me to acquire experience in developing lesson plans, curriculum, and facilitating field trips to support and enhance the curriculum. In addition, I would also substitute for absent teachers for all grades (i.e. Kindergarten through 12th) and all subjects.
Currently, I am a Substitute teacher at Source4teachers from which I gain valuable experience in the classroom. I usually get assigned in an In-Class Resource as the main8 teacher, Language-Based Learning Disability, and/or Autistic Teacher. Source4Teachers has provided me with a Long-Term Replacement Teacher Assignments at Lakewood School District and Franklin School Districts, and at South River Public Schools. I also Substitute Teach at Hillsborough School District.
Currently, I can tutor any type of History class, Political, World Religion, Sociology, Geography, and or Geo-Political subjects. The reason as to why I choose these subjects is that I have a personal attachment to these courses and when teaching to the students it is very easy to relate to the subject at hand. My tutoring style is quite simple and it is the same as when I teach which is to relate the subject at hand to modern times. Secondly, I make sure the students understand what happened in the past and what were the choices made by political and religious figures that affected the course of history. Finally, I see what kind of predictions students can make for the future. When I am not tutoring and/or teaching I love to play video games, watching and playing sports, and finally watching TV and movies.
Finally, I know that my vast knowledge of being an educator makes me a perfect tutor for your child. I look forward to hearing from you soon and I can be reached by email at email@example.com or by cell phone: (732) 325-4090.

Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
When a student has a difficulty when it comes to learning a skill or a concept, there are many ways one can tackle the skill or concept that the student wants to learn. One way is that I would come from a different angle with this skill or concept. Another way is I would show a video or short cartoon that goes over the skill or concept. I would also ask the student what they know from this skill and focus on the part they do not understand.
